Galway's Medtronic Expands with Hundreds of New Jobs in the Pipeline

Medtronic, one of the largest employers in Co Galway, has received conditional approval from Galway City Council for its expansion plans at the IDA Parkmore East Business & Technology Park. The proposed expansion involves the construction of a new mezzanine floor and additional laboratories in the research space, aiming to accommodate the company's growth.

In September 2023, Medtronic had submitted plans to enhance its facilities, and now with the council's conditional approval, the expansion is set to proceed. The added laboratory space is expected to support the development activities at the Parkmore East site, following the company's announcement of 200 Research and Development roles in 2022.
